Connect to Work In-Work Support Service

Free personalised support for Southwark residents

Supporting you to stay in work – or take the next step.
The Connect to Work In-Work Support Service from Careerology Ltd is a free supported employment programme delivered by Southwark Works, designed to help Southwark residents with health conditions, disabilities, or complex barriers to employment.
We provide individually tailored support for people living in the London Borough of Southwark who are:
- At risk of losing their job
- Experiencing difficulties at work, or
- Wanting to change job
You’ll work with your own personal employment specialist, to help you overcome challenges, manage work-related stress, and take control of your next career move.
What does the Connect to Work In-Work Support service involve?
As a participant, you can receive tailored support to help you:
- Manage stress or burnout at work
- Request flexible working or reasonable adjustments
- Plan your next steps if you’re at risk of falling out of work
- Explore a career change
- Look for a new role
- Update your CV and prepare for interviews
- Start your own business
Appointments can be weekly, fortnightly or ad-hoc, depending on the level of support you want.
All sessions are private and confidential. We will not contact your employer unless you choose and give permission.
Who is the Connect to Work In-Work Support service for?
Because this is a government-funded programme, you must meet all of the following criteria:
You must:
- Be aged 18 or over
- Be employed or self-employed
- Live in the London Borough of Southwark
- Have a disability, long-term health condition, or belong to a specified disadvantaged group
- Be able to attend regular appointments
- Not be on another government-funded employment programme (e.g., Work and Health Programme, Restart)
- Have the right to live and work in the UK, and be able to show proof (e.g., passport, Home Office letter)
If you’re unsure whether you qualify, we’re happy to help you check.
Apply for the In-Work Support service
To apply for support from the In-Work Support service, you must first complete an Expression of Interest form.
It takes around 15 minutes and helps us check whether you’re eligible for the service.
If you meet the eligibility criteria, we’ll invite you to an Initial Meeting.
During this meeting, we will:
- Learn more about your situation
- Check that the service is right for you
- Verify your proof of right to work
- Ask you to sign a data sharing agreement
If the service isn’t suitable, or if you can’t provide proof of right to work, we will signpost you to alternative support in your local area.
If the service is suitable, we’ll submit your information to the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP).
They will carry out a quick check to confirm you’re not receiving support elsewhere.
We can only offer you a place once DWP approval is received.
You can contact us at any time if you have any questions about this service at info@careerology.org or use the Contact Us button below.
Please note: Places on this programme are limited, and due to high demand we may not be able to offer a place to everyone who applies.
If we are unable to offer you a place, we will contact you by email to let you know. In this case, we will also share a range of helpful online resources to support your next steps, including access to our Career Change Toolkit and a free place on our “Be Your Own Career Coach” course.
